Looking for a VW contact as I am in the market for a '25 Golf GTI.

Location can be anywhere really, but focused on Texas, Oklahoma, or Kansas.

I searched using Google and the Texags forum 46 trick and did find a thread from back in '21/'22 but there were never any replies listing a contact.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I have some concerns on the reliability side of things. I cannot remember if you are the GTI expert on here? Seems like there was someone on the Auto Board that had a tuned GTI or Golf R that was pretty active on this board.

My thinking is this is the best all-weather daily driver for my college daughter that still has track-day and autocross chops that has a twin-clutch auto. She'll be up in Kansas where there is real winter and although I could.teach her to drive a stick, I know having the twin-clutch auto in my EVO made learning track-day driving so much easier.

I've had mine for 9+ years and didn't have any issues until earlier this year, around 85,000 miles. I had the ECU and TCU tuned about 6 years ago. It's fun as hell

What kind of HP are you at to the wheels. Are there any overheat issues on the DSG on track if you track yours? My EVO could barely make 20 minute sessions once I learned to push the car hard if ambient temps were above about 70.

The shop said somewhere around 320 but I never verified anything. I haven't tracked it at all so I can't help there

If you have never driven anything on track, you are missing out and the GTI is a great starter car for track days. Just be careful, the old Peter Egan quote "Racing makes heroin addiction look like a vague wish for something salty." is about as true as anything I've ever read.

If the GTI is just your DD and you have tracked faster cars disregard the above, you already know...

I own a manual Mk8 Golf R. Last year for the manual transmission.

Mechanically, it's solid. I have no rattles or creaks. The infotainment was quirky at times before a dealer installed software update fixed most of the issues. I despise the haptic controls everywhere but I've gotten used to it and the car is otherwise great.

The GTI / R is a pretty fantastic commuter. My miles are mostly on the highway and there are better cruisers out there. It's not a GT car by any means. But, it's small, fun, and really practical as a daily driver. I also like rowing my own gears and hauling ass in a little hatchback that no one expects to be fast.

The EA888 can handle monster HP numbers with a tune. The salesman I bought mine from had a Mk7 GTI pushing well over 400HP. He tracked his and the videos he showed me were absolutely wild.

However, I don't think I'll own it outside of warranty because any repairs are hella expensive.

I hadn't considered that the mantra "Don't own a German car outside of the warranty period" applied to VW, but why wouldn't it I guess.
