I have a 2016 f-150 with the sliding rear glass. After almost 10 years, the adhesive that holds the top trim piece that has a channel in it failed. The little middle glass be piece just kinda tilts inward leaving a 1" gap at the top of the window. The plastic trim piece looks like it had some type of foamy double sided tape holding it on. I tried using gorilla tape but it failed after about a day.
I went to ford dealer to see if they could sell me the tape they use. Parts counter kid said his only option was to sell me the whole rear window assembly for $1800.

Does anyone know what kind of tape I need to get the trim piece to stick back on?
Or a good autoglass place in Houston than can fix this?

Thanks
Silvy

Auto glass shops use a dedicated primer & adhesive for this repair. A shop near me charged me $65 which is cheaper than buying the same materials they utilized

My 2017 F350 did this the day I went to buy it (used). Great negotiating tactic for the me against the sales man. Took it to an auto glass / body shop and glued it back in pretty cheap. Shouldn't have to do the whole rear assembly....

Had the same issue with my 2016 F150...

F150 sliding rear window

Just got some wider 3M adhesive tape from O Reilly's and ran it across the entire upper plastic channel.
I pinned it in place overnight with a 2X2 pushed by the electric front seats. Been several months and it's still holding. Think the 3M tape from O Reilly's was like $10..
