I just placed an order on a PowerBoost F150 Lariat with the 7.2 KW ProPowerOnboard.

Dealer offered over $2k off invoice.

When the car arrives will they sell it out from under me, add a $3k document fee or some crazy fabric protection package? How are they going to screw me?

She was very pleasant to deal with and said I should take it if it's legit. AutoNation was significantly lower.

It was one of the 600+ Auto Nations. I'll keep this thread updated and share the details of the sales experience as we go but save identity of the dealership and salesman until we close.

For context, my wife and I are looking to take advantage of the Bonus Depreciation passed as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill. My wife's business grew this year so we're not in the need of a vehicle as much as we're in need of the tax deduction.

We walked into the dealership last Saturday afternoon shortly before closing and it was slow and the sales manager greeted us and after a test drive we told him we wanted the same truck but without the moonroof. They didn't have one and he pulled a similar vin from somewhere in West Texas to get pricing details and offered invoice minus holdback minus $1000 on our order. I asked if we arm wrestled for two hours if the number would change and was told no and we left. There was no negotiation involved.

I'm pretty confused by this sales experience because I don't have a favorable opinion of large auto groups after seeing a Keating finance guy change the terms of a sale. Had I not manually recalculated the amortization schedule I would not have caught that a-hole.

The Autonations I've dealt with they offer no-haggle pricing. So there's no negotiation as you experienced.

If you're in the Houston area, go to 1ags contact. She's no BS.

About to purchase my second truck from her. It was delivered last week and is getting prepped this week.

A little drama on this deal. The manager we negotiated with gave his 2 weeks notice a week before delivery and they let him go so we had to start over negotiating.

Ended up with a better price than we had initially so I'm happy for how. We're waiting on them to prep the documents.

There were two paint blems, they've submitted a claim with Ford and we're taking possession on the promise they'll fix it after close. It's a risk but for [insert personal reasons] we're not wanting to drag this out.

I'll reveal the price after we hand our check over,
But here are the blems for now:

We closed without incident.

For the numbers, no trade and no financing.
Initial deal was Invoice minus Holdback minus $1,000.

MSRP: $74,215
Invoice: $69,536.75
Holdback: ($1,433)
Incentives: ($500)
Sale Price: $67,103

Renegotiated deal: ($3000 under invoice minus incentives)
Sale Price: $66,037

The different MSRP is b/c the dealer was pricing a bunch of addons, but only the wheel locks were included.

Nice, but why'd you get wheel locks?

Because they had already put them on and weren't charging me for them.

Looks like that's a pretty standard discount right now. Cavender doesn't do add on shenanigans.

Perhaps the market is softening? I priced a truck with Tommy Vaughn and McRee Ford and they were both about $2k higher than AutoNation's price which is what prompted me to start this thread.

1ags' contact is the best for an easy experience with good pricing. But if you shop around you can find dealers trying to move inventory pretty easy.

I had a truck totaled in April so was unexpectedly in the market. Tommie Vaughn didn't have what I was looking for on the lot, had some in transit or being built and quoted me $73 + TTL for a $78ish MSRP King Ranch.

I shopped around for something in stock and got the same truck for $68 drive out.

They will try to force the dealer add ons to make up that $2K.
