Idk the point of this post other than maybe a cautionary tale or maybe get some input from other owners if they're having the same experience.

I have a really hard time operating my 2023 power boost smoothly. When the engine kicks on, it does a bit of a hesitate and then surge. Also, with the 10 speed transmission, I feel like it never knows what gear it really wants to be in. Then, when I need power now, the truck really takes its time figuring it out what it wants to do and then when the engine kicks on and it downshifts it really lurches forward. The whole experience overall is just really herky jerky in my opinion.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

Reset adaptive drive modes.

Mine was like that when I first got it and I reset it and drove the jellyfish out of it and after that it was very smooth and responsive

I'll google how to reset the adaptive drive mode and give it a try. Thanks again!

Only rough spot with mine is switching from electric to ICE is a jerky from a stopped position.

And the braking can feel a little like anti lock breaks. But that most hybrids I've ever driven.

Otherwise it's great. No issues.

Every vehicle I've ever owned with an economy mode seems to have a jerky transmission due to whatever setpoints they pick. I never find it to be that helpful in saving fuel either. I've pretty much abandoned ever using it.

But I'll add, with my '23 PB, the only oddity I've noticed is when mountain driving in the past few months. Especially when going from downhill to uphill, I notice when the instant torque of the electric motor kicks in and it subtly jerks like a transmission sometimes does.

I rarely drive any car I've owned in economy mode.

Normal/Sport or Tow/Haul unless I'm on the freeway for a few hours

My 2019 Raptor was horrible until I got it tuned including a goosetuned TCU flash. It's still nowhere close to the genius of a stock ZF 8hp80, but much better than before.

Kept it in "normal" mode today and it made a huge difference. Thanks guys

I feel dumb for not trying that before posting lol
