Grand Cherokee air suspension

So, I bought new tires for my Grand Cherokee at Costco, and a couple of months later, my air suspension goes out. About $3,300 later, I pick up the car from the Jeep service center, and the tire is flat.

I'm irritated, but I take it back to Costco for the free repair. About 40 minutes later, they call me back to the shop and ask how to turn off the air suspension. If they don't turn it off, it will potentially mess it up.

We figured out how to turn it off, but it had me wondering if they screwed up my suspension when they put the tires on. I have about 84,000 miles on it, and Jeep isn't exactly known for reliability, but it does seem like a big coincidence.

Why would they need to turn off your air suspension? Wasn't your vehicle off when they changed the tires? Honestly one has nothing to do with the other.

I'm sure it varies from vehicle to vehicle but most cars with air suspension do have a "tire jack" mode or something similar. I don't know how active the suspension is with key off but they do suggest that mode.

So they did use jack mode. I got it back in the highest off-road setting, and it wouldn't go down. I thought they had messed up the suspension again. But I had to be somewhere, so I took off. About 15 minutes later, the suspension fixed itself and seems okay now. This is my last air suspension for a while.

Usually, the car settles after it has been off a bit, so having the car off doesn't automatically turn off the air suspension.
