Got rear ended at a stop light by a guy who claims he got rear ended and pushed into me. No witnesses but he says he was in park and was shifting into drive when it happened. It was hard enough for his tow hooks to dent my bumper and for me to tweak my back.

I wouldn't even mess with getting that fixed, maybe it's more noticeable in person, but can't really see anything in the picture. Get it quoted and pocket the insurance money if the guy that hit you was insured.

The only issue is popping open the tailgate. But I was planning on having my tio who is a side mechanic fix it up and pocketing the money. Guy was insured.

I had something similar but on front bumper. The shop quoted me to replace the bumper and OEM one was north of $1k

Dude. This is your subsidized Ranch Hand front and rear replacement bumper. Crappy foil bumper damage but no body damage…it's perfect.

Take your truck to the most expensive body shop you got, likely the dealer, shouldn't be a big deal since it's pretty new. Send the claim to their insurance company. Should be at least enough to put one if not a fair bit of both bumpers on.

If it's just the metal bumper, I see some on RockAuto for around $500 and probably very easy to replace. Pocket some extra insurance money or as others said, time for an off road bumper.

Don't. Only buy OE. The chrome on the cheap ones will rust out quickly even in Texas. You'll replace it again in 2-4 years if you still have the truck.

Where would you buy OE? Not sure of OP's year, but I searched for '23 and this one shows as being OEM.

I don't have experience buying a bumper like this, but I was close for my Tundra. I ended up buying an off road bumper monstrosity and hated every second it was on my truck.

That bumper you linked is aftermarket and not OE. If you take the OE interchange numbers from Rock Auto and google them, you can find dealers with the OE part

GM Parts Direct is usually decent on pricing. There's a few others that are close too. Direct from GM for the basically the same price plus shipping.

Rock Auto is ~$715 shipped for me. Genuine GM from a dealer is $950. With that, you also get a 2yr warranty vs the 1yr from Rock Auto. Retail price on the bumper is ~$975+tax. I'd also go into my local parts dept and see if they'd cut a deal. GM seems to be offering 20% off online parts orders at a lot of dealers right now.

Great points, I'd go with the dealer with such a close difference in cost.

When I saw 'OEM' on RockAuto it made me think that it was comparable to what the dealer would sell.

That's what I'm thinking too but I think I will still end up paying more for RHs than what I'll get from insurance.

RH time, my 2013 ram 1500 got rear ended in 2014, minimal bumper damage and I still got $1300 from their insurance.
