This was sticking out from the driver's side splash guard on my step-son's Mazda 3. I could not see where it could have attached anywhere on the vehicle but I didn't put it on ramps or jack it up and crawl under.

Seems like something he picked up on the road.

Not sure why it's not displaying except the image filter is stupid a LOT of the time.

It looks like a battery hold down hook. The hook goes into the battery tray and then a strap over the battery is held by a nut on the threaded end.

Yeah. I see it now. It's a little different than the one on my truck but not by much.

I have no idea how it was still hanging around in his splash shield. He recently had the battery tray replaced due to corrosion and I'm guessing they didn't put this back.

And yes, he had it done at a Stealership.
