Time for new tires for my 23 Bronco Badlands. Not a Sasquatch, but thinking of upgrading to 35's. Looking at Nitto Recons 315 70 17s. Seems to be the best AT for all round driving and a lot of highway use. I put some miles on the truck, but think she's built for the bigger size. Currently running 285's with 1.25" spacers just for a little poke. Would I need to remove the crash bars for the bigger tire or should I just stick with the 33's?

What say you auto board?

If you're doing alot of highway driving, I'd stick to current size and would get Yokohamas over Nittos.

Will be following - also in a Badlands non squatch 33' - only 14K miles on my '22. Wanted to go up to 35' but have had the same questions.

I've heard good things about the Falken Rubitrek A/T. They're an A/T tire but built more for on-road civility as compared to the Wildpeak A/T4W which I also really like.

Silvy, agree with you. With the miles I put on, 285s is the practical decision, but I just cant shake the fun factor of 35s.

Crowbar, if I was putting that few miles on my truck, 35s would be a no brainer.

I've had great experience over the years with BFG KO2s. Also had Toyos AT's for a bit and they were fine, just nothing special.

Any reason for recommending Yoko over Nitto? Ive had Nitto performance tires on a sports car, but never an AT. Great experience though.

Flaith, need to look into the Falken's. Would be a new brand for me.

Avoid the KO2s. I replaced my factory Sasquatch Goodyears with KO2s and they wouldn't balance worth a crap. Discount had to put a stupid amount of weights on a couple of them and one never would balance correctly, so I just put it as the spare. After my experience, I looked and it's a common problem with larger KO2s.

Go Falken or MT Baja Boss. Lots of good experiences with both over at B6G. I was going to go with the MTs but changed my mind at the last minute because I had a history of good BFG experiences going back 30 years. Won't make that mistake again.

I'll preface by saying I also think you should stick to SL or XL (not LT tires).

The Yokohama tires (AT4), would be more street friendly than the Recons mostly due to there shoulder and tread design. I'll also admit to being a Yokohama fanboy. During my years at DTC, I saw the least amount of issues with Yokohamas.

ETA: I was stuck between Yoko XAT & MT Baja Boss for my truck, but after looking at tire weight, I started leaning XAT. As I become more boring and not steady trying to stunt on these hoes, I'm planning to get Yoko AT4s on my truck when it's time.

I have an F150 (not a bronco) and I just put on Nitto Recon Grappler 285/70/18 (33.7" ish)

I love them for daily driving around town and highway but their wet performance based on reviews seems to be underwhelming. I've been in the rain some with them and haven't fully pushed the limit but they were at least okay. I have had some slippage compared to the OEM grabbers.

These are also not 3 peak mountain rated so something to consider if you are doing any winter driving.

I run the Wildpeak AT4Ws that get a good amount of road use, and they're great.

1ags, looks great! I see you upgraded to the SAS wheels on your badlands. Assume you removed the front/rear crash bars to avoid any rubbing? See any issues running this size on the stock badlands wheels that are a 1/2" narrower? I'm currently running a 1.25" spacer so think I should be fine.

Definitely looking at a SL/XL/C Load Range to keep the weight down and maintain ride quality.

I think with the spacers, you will be fine. You definitely want to remove the crash bars, front and back. The recon's were the only tires available in Sl, which was what I had on my 23 bronco.

The only other thing you will want to consider is maybe the high clearance fender flares.
