This Navigator might be the ugliest SUV I have ever seen.
Horrific. No analog controls is a complete failure. Cadillac went this route in 2015-16 and it failed so badly they reversed course and brought buttons and knobs back.
This makes those cars (I own one) look downright luddite in comparison though.
And this trend of having panoramic UI screens is so overkill and unnecessary as to be laughable. And dangerous as hell. I wouldn't be surprised if that gets penalized in safety reviews.
And that steering wheel float. My god.
Had a new Navigator as a rental for a couple of weeks last year in November. Indifferent on the looks and it drove pretty nicely. But the technology stuff was incredible overkill and downright stupid and dangerous. Not intuitive and takes the drivers eyes of the road unnecessarily often.
Literally took me 15 minutes to figure out how to set up the mirrors and stuff. The seat was old school. Everything else was menu driven using the touchpad on the wheel Once you figure it out, it isn't that big of a deal. But at first I felt really dumb.
Biggest unnecessary danger - adjusting air vents! Manual must be to plebian You have to hit a button on the center low touch screen, then adjust them on the touch screen. STUPID in the extreme.
TONS of stupid Nanny warnings that I never managed to turn off. All the screens across the dash seem cool at first glance, but really don't give anything useful.
Fair number of plastic rattles and the hood flexed up every time a semi passed the other way on a two lane highway.
The experience pretty much took the Aviator off of my purchase list of the SUV for purchase at the end of the year. It made me really question the Lincoln brand.
