Bought one of these in October, the other last week.

Neither would prime and noticed fuel was backing up, pressurized, in the feed line.

Decided to cut them open and see what was going on...inlet port is blocked completely by molded plastic from the manufacturing process. Dunno if they drill that out after the fact or it's a bad mold. Got these off Amazon same as I had 12 times previously...not going to do it again though.

I did notice one has the serial/pn info lasered on the top, the other is printed. I need to go back and check to see what the last one I got that worked was...

Amazon resellers are notorious for selling knockoff motorcraft filters. I never buy auto parts off of amazon anymore because it's a crap shoot.
Buying motorcraft filters from a parts store is usually only a few dollars more than Amazon and you know you are not getting a knockoff.

Not sure what you paid at Amazon, but Walmart sells genuine Motorcraft filters for $8.44 each in store. If you have Walmart+, they'll even deliver to your door in an hour.

Never, ever, buy "new" auto parts on Amazon or Ebay in 2025. You'll end up with knockoffs nearly every time. Also, if you ever need a lifetime warranty replacement, you're going to be screwed buying through Amazon. I've had to do multiple CEO escalations to get them to replace lifetime warranty parts.

I just buy local with a coupon now.

LMAO! I thought it was Tuesday until a couple hours ago. It'll be 2027, and I'll probably still think it's 2025.
