Traded in my problematic 2023 Silverado 3500 that was almost out of warranty for this lightly used 2024 Ram 2500 mega cab with the Cummins & 6 speed.
Very happy with my decision so far!

In true Ram fashion the image is already broken .

White Megacab is the best truck on the market.
How big of a discount were you able to get vs new? I tested a new 24 and new 25 back to back and couldn't not get the 8 speed.
Is yours HO with Aisin or the 68rfe?

I love the Megacab so far. I'm a contractor and in my Silverado I had a Decked system to carry all my tools. As the business has grown, I've needed less and less specialty tools myself. I've got my hand tools and power tools behind the seat as well as a first aid kit, jumper cables, and a box of tie-downs. Debating if i'll even put the Decked drawers back in the truck.
The MSRP was $99,977 in 2024 and I paid 2/3rds of that. It had 27k on it when I purchased it. Got a bumper to bumper extended warranty for up to 125k.
It's just the regular 6.7 with the 68rfe.

Truck is great so far, rides much better. To be expected though going from 3500 to 2500.
As far as the reliability jokes, I think RAM has really stepped up the past 5-10 years compared to the other manufacturers. We shall see.

that 6 speed transmission is far better than anything Chevy or Ford is crapping out.

And that's why I wanted a '24. Not sure I want to be a test subject for the 8 speed. And compared to the 10 speed, the 68rfe is cheap to have rebuilt, even if its a stage 3 or something.
My valve body on my Silverado went out at 68k miles. My clean up guy just had his go out a few months ago (on a '24 that is supposedly "upgraded") at 28k miles. A home builder I work with has had his go out twice, once at 25k and again at 87k.
Allison has sent a cease and desist order to GM to stop using their trademark on HD trucks if Allison didn't build the transmission, i.e. the 10 speed. I believe anything produced after 1/1/2026 cannot have the Allison badge on it and anything left on the lot after 6/1/2026 has to be re-badged to remove the Allison logo.
