How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm in the market for a new van or SUV.

I have 3 kids in car seats and 2 of them are rear facing

I would like ventilation in the seats and my wife wants the HUD and 360 camera and the rear view mirror camera.

We have driven the Sienna and hybrid Carnival neither of which we were both happy with. I drove the Odyssey but it doesn't have ceiling air vents in the back

I don't want to go over 65k otd

Any other suggestions?

Might as well just buy a Denali XL.

How often do you buy vehicles. 3 kids only get bigger and add friends and you trade baby stuff for sports equipment. We had a Honda pilot but now went full Suburban recently and no regrets. Recommend captains chairs for easier access and break up fights.

We don't buy vehicles very often. I'm hoping this next over will be a 200k ish like my 2006 F 150

Just get a 'burban, then. Otherwise, you risk not being one of the cool moms.

I would like to get a suburban but unfortunately the models with the features that I want are out of my budget range by quite a bit

I would have to deal with the frustration of finding a used one and I don't really want to do that and I don't really have the time to do it either

Get on Autotrader. Look for a used GM suburban/yukon with the diesel.

Look in your price range.

Check this out

KILLER deal. Low mileage

I thought you would like this Used 2023 GMC Yukon XL SLT for $57988 on Autotrader http://atcm.co/S2PVDP/2DDCBF45.

We just picked up a used 2024 expedition max for well under your budget. We have three in car seats. I prefer the full bench seat 2nd row. We fold down the middle if we want to stick a kid in the back and separate the other two or we'll put all three in the 2nd row if we're traveling somewhere and need the cargo space.

I really like my CX9 but with the third row there really is no storage space.

I hate to say it, but minivans are by far the most practical.

Another vote for Expedition. I bought a Navigator when our kids were almost ready to outgrow carseats and I still have it now that they are in high school and one is almost 6'-5". Expedition is same basic platform. Lots of room. Might want to buy low mileage used to get a better trim level in your budget. If you get a CPO, they will probably include an extended warranty as part of the deal.

This is where I was a few years ago when I had twins along with my, at the time 5 year old. We had a Highlander which was great, until you actually had to use the third row. Although even with my oldest rear facing car seat was still tight. (I'm 6'8" wife 5'10") Wanted to make a minivan work but with the car seats there just wasn't enough leg room. We wound up going with an expedition and glad we did. I will say I was planning on going telluride or palisade if we were only going to have 2 kids like we had planned.

We did this dance with 3 under 7 at the time not too long ago. I was heavily shopping a used Sequoia with the v8 but my wife didn't like that it felt exactly like driving my Tundra. We were very close to buying an Odyssey even though we were both anti-minivan. We ultimately nixed that Odyssey due to size as it barely fit in our garage and didn't have a 360 cam option so regularly parking where vehicles should park was going to be an issue. We landed on a 200 series Land Cruiser, which we both love. All 3 kids still ride in the 2nd row, but we routinely deploy the 3rd row for additional booster seat or just beyond booster seat kids and it has worked out well for us. I have a roof box for when we use my fleet Edge, but we have yet to need the roof box on trips with the LC.

With three in car seats, including rear facing, you're either going to 1) suck it up and be jammed in to a Telluride/Pathfinder/Grand Highlander/Pilot/Explorer/Atlas for a few years until the older ones get in to booster seats in the third row, or 2) go directly to Minivan or Tahoe/Sequoia/Expy/Armada

Choose your own adventure. If you need the seating AND the cargo space, minivan or Suburban/ExpyXL might be the only options.

We just got a Telluride X-Pro for the wife, and it is pretty sweet.

She likes it so far; she had a '17 Santa Fe, and the Telluride has a bit more room, which is what she wanted.

From our experience, you will be happy with either of the Korean sister brands.

We currently have all three in my F150 or the wife's CX-5 which is cramped. Ideally we would like the space of the Sienna and the Yukon so the kids can't touch each other as easily since my 1 year old tax pulling the 4 yet olds hair this weekend

My wife was given a Buick Enclave as a loaner while the dealership replaces the blown engine in her '23 Denali XL.

It's shockingly nice and large on the inside for what I'd consider to be a small SUV.

Yup

We had one in the family for years.

Multiple long road trips. Third row is comfortable. Captains chairs in the back are as big as a Yukon.

Third row is small behind the back but it can work

What a lot of people don't realize is with 3 kids, 2 go in the captains chairs and one goes in the third row. But since these are all 60/40 splits in the third, you fold down the other side of the third row and have a TON of space.

This is what we do today when my wife rides in the third row to tend to the toddler in the 2nd row captain for long road trips.

Odyssey or Sienna.

Take the savings on gas, oil, tires, insurance, registration, taxes, etc. and take your wife on a nice anniversary trip every few years.

Congrats on the hotel sex.

Most bang for the buck for what you are looking for is the Subaru Ascent. Excellent SUV.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
The Sienna that the wife wants is the platinum which is 65k plus and the Odyssey doesn't have ceiling air vents so it's eliminated. The kia carnival dashboard and info screen just seemed too low to me but that could be user error. I haven't looked at the Subaru

There actually in the B-pillar behind the front seats and C pillar behind the 2nd row. Actually better at getting air to the occupants as it doesn't have to travel as far.

I'll have to double check that on the Odyssey

The 2024 expedition had ventilated seats in the XLT package. That was my must have. The 2025 you have to jump to platinum or king ranch for that I believe. I bet many will be trading theirs in soon when the other carpool mafia moms don't invite her to champagne brunch because she's driving the old body style. We have 3 in car seats(or boosters) across the center row because their sports crap lives in the back.

360 camera on mommas Carnival is nice, but with parking sensors on the front I'm not sure that is really necessary. I pick her carnival over my expedition when running out for a quick errand. It's easier to drive, get kids in & out, and buy the groceries necessary for 3 kids.

I'd buy either again.

The odyssey is still your best bet. You probably don't want vents blowing directly on the kids, and the pillar vents do a good job of circulating air in the back.

Model X is one of the better minivans on the market. 2023 models will fit your price range. Maybe 2024 models as well.
