Sorry, but I really don't know. The last time I took it in, I asked them to check out the charging system. They had a level 2 charger in the shop and didn't seem to have any issues. Otherwise, I've never used a level 2 charger.
I even went so far as to buy another 3rd party branded highly rated charger off Amazon to eliminate the possibility that the BMW OEM charger that came with the car was the issue. Same issue, regardless of which charger I used.
