1975 F-250 Crew Cab highboy
Original 360 V8, manual, factory AC and power steering. It's a little beat up and has rust, the interior is fantastic.

I found this sweet baby in a neighbor's barn. I went expecting to find a 90s Ford that I could maybe use interior pieces to use on my 96 F-350. My jaw hit the floor when I walked into the barn and saw this. It was in there for 18-19 years since it apparently had transmission problems. I took a video of us airing up tires, hooking it up, and bringing out of the barn. I'm still working on other projects before starting on this one. Considering making a YouTube series out of the process.

Title issue solved. Many thanks to the amazing and wonderful 1ags.

Title issue - registered owner is deceased. Purchased from the daughter, who is the legal owner. She isn't able to find the title. She went to the title office and was unable to file for a lost title due to it possibly being registered under an obscure llc or ranch name, which was the case with another truck I bought from her. The tax office wouldn't give her the actual name under which it's registered, would only confirm that she didn't have the exact name when she guessed at it. Last license plate number is U1V944. VIN is FZ6YCW24803. If anyone knows where I can get info so we can file for a lost title, I'd appreciate it. If not, I'll be working on a bonded title.

Bonded title.

You'll have to pay a company to supply the bond. 3 year period for an original owner to dispute it (bond company would pay the owner for the truck, if it's ever disputed). In 3 years with no disputes, you go back to the tax office to have the bond requirement removed.

Love old dent sides, that is going to be a sweet truck once restored.

For the title there are services that will get you a new title through the state of Indiana. Never personally had to use one but would look into it. NoNonsenseKnowhow on Youtube used this service for a couple of his projects.

There are certainly others on here who know more about it than I do but, as next of kin, she should be able to get the title transferred to her name.

Any old paperwork or insurance papers in the glove box with the owner's name, or business name?

My father passed away last year and my mother had no trouble getting his truck title transferred to her name.

Oh, awesome truck by the way.

I know OP said they resolved this issue, but just for future reference, go through filings at the Secretary of State and Comptroller's office -- assuming in Texas. Use equivalent for out of state. For years, Texas has required public information filings and the original LLC/Corp. filings should still be accessible. You can also check DBA records for most counties. There is a DBA listed in Dallas County that I filed in like 1987.

This is to get exact names from that era. If getting the exact name wouldn't have mattered, well, I can't comment further. At least, not off the top of my head.

Right there with you. I zoomed in on that and took me back to a different era.

OP - Congrats on an awesome find! Any more to the story like how it came about to go look at it and how long it had been sitting? Always amazing to me people can just abandon stuff and then time passes while whatever just stands still.

Very cool.

Seeing that truck triggered a memory. Presuming you are from that area, did you know R.P. Wagner? He passed away years ago, he was an old farmer rancher from the Shelby area but I remember his harvesting equipment always had Round Top on it.

Just curious; he was an old friend of my dad's from many years ago and I hadn't thought of him in many years... until I saw your barn find prize. Congrats on that jewel.

Honestly, i'd leave this truck as is and just make it reliable. Love the character as opposed to a show piece.

Anyone have any idea on what this truck is worth? I have a preliminary offer on the table for it for way more than I would think it's worth, even though this configuration is rare. It's hard to value because you see so few. Considering selling because of the numbers and I've always got too many projects going, but now I'm wondering if it's low. Best avenue to sell it? I'm still working on a title, I'm probably going the bonded route at this point because the seller is being a pita.

Working on it has been slow so far. My kid had to buy a non running 75 Corvette that I've been helping him get going. Hope to have the vette running this morning actually.

Back to the F250, I pulled the carburetor a few weeks ago and found it clean and nice, so I put it back together. Gas tank and lines are airtight, I emptied the tank and rinsed a little bit. Added gas and tried to start it. That's when I found the starter missing lol.

New starter last week, turns over beautifully but no spark. I started testing the ignition system yesterday and learned all about the duraspark system…I assumed it was points. Pretty sure the module is bad but then it started to rain so I didn't get to test fully, my projects get a shadetree while the kid's Corvette takes up my shop space. Hoping to finish diagnosing the ignition later today.

My DD is a 96 F-350. I'm always looking for interior pieces to upgrade. I heard from one of my kids friends in passing that there was a 90s f250 in a neighbor's barn that they were planning to sell, so I texted them about it. I showed up expecting to see an aeronose…but was most pleasantly surprised. Last inspection was 2006, so I'm assuming 20 years hiding away. I got in trouble for buying it because it was the third truck I bought that day, but it was well worth the shaming.

I've done similar things / left trucks sit way too long more than once. I've got a 97 F150 that wasn't running right 10-12 years ago, so I left it sitting under a carport. My 16 year old and I got it back in shape a few months ago for him to drive. It took a lot to get it running and safe, but it's as clean as you'll find a truck of that vintage.

I don't know what the big deal is. 1975 wasn't that long ago.
