I went and looked at the GMC trucks last night. Spent about 2.5 hrs at the dealer looking at all of the trims in the 1500 from SLT, Denali, AT4, AT4X and then looked at a 2500 AT4.

The AT4 and AT4X were a step above the others. The AT4X fired up and gave a beautiful rumble with the 6.2L V8. However, the 3.0 baby Durand is probably the long term better engine.

I think I have backed off the 250/2500 sized truck.

lol

I actually sat next to one of the founders on a flight back from Phoenix one time. They had just sold to Private Equity. Which means the margins are stupid and more people on the horizon.

Honestly though, great business model. Want a badass lifted half ton truck, jeep, or Tahoe?

Boom - lift, vinyl wraps, fuel or Voss wheels, and HAVE to be Nitto grapplers

Did he go with a Tundra yet? Haha

If not, at least go with a GMC.

I feel like I have received a lot of feedback but still completely confused.

Some additional context
I'm 40
I have driven the following
1997 F-150 extended cab lariat with the 4.6L V8 pretty sweet ride to have in high school early 00s
2008 bare bones taco pre-runner.
2009 F-150 crew cab xlt fx4 6.5' box

24 years as a driver and every vehicle I have driven has been old or mid. I want something nice. Something fun. Something rewarding for the work I have done and the "sacrifice" I have made driving beaters.

I like the size look of the 250/2500. The 2500 GMC with a little lift just looks like a badass truck, to me. The 150/1500 is probably the most practical for sure. But I want to drive this truck another 10 years and I don't know what the future holds, but I also want the truck to last for 10 years without much or any headache.

Leaves me scratching my head still.

White but not a boost

If you haven't looked at the 2021 --> 2026 F150, this current generation, you need to.

It's night/day from your model... even from the previous generation they've changed over 90% of the truck.

I stand by my earlier post - get a F150 - PowerBoost. Rock solid hybrid, and don't look back.

The top-level Lariet has everything the "King Ranch" and "Platinum" above it does but basically massage seats (who cares). King Ranch comes with burn orange hard interior (yuck) and the platinum comes with a silver plaqued tailgate (yuck), but the King Ranch can be two-toned (rule change circa 2023-ish)
