I've always had the tri fold style bed cover but I'm thinking of switching to the roll style for ease of use. What are the best brands? Are there automatic ones that work with the push of a button or do those mess up easily?

2022 RAM with MOPAR trifold (only had the truck a few weeks): Appears more secure but I opened it while it was raining the other day and the bed was mostly wet so I put my Costco haul into the back floorboard

I've also been happy with my cheap Amazon vinyl roll-up cover. Started with Bakflip hard trifold years ago but I felt like it didn't last long enough. Went with Tyger brand on Amazon and they've been good enough for me. Have had one on my old tundra for probably 5 years and just put one on my Ford. Both are pretty dang waterproof.

Seems less secure but in reality the trifold isn't that secure either. Trifold looks nicer for sure but that's the only real advantage, in my opinion, and not enough for the price difference and potentially not lasting as long as I experienced.

I used to have an automatic retractable aluminum bed cover, do not recall the brand. It worked well for probably 4 years, but once it got out of calibration it got bent/damaged, and once damaged, was not easily repaired. I have had two different fiberglass trifolds that each last about twice as long. They too break and wear out, but seem easier to DIY repair when needed.

My trifold from Amazon was great and only about $550.

Which one did you get?
