Thoughts? Prayers?

Looking for a 3rd vehicle for zipping around and for a kid to drive eventually.

According to KBB, this one is a bit overpriced, but I'm sure there is some wiggle room. Are these Subarus pretty reliable?

They are very reliable Japanese vehicles.

50k miles is great, but even so, it's still a 15 year old car.

What makes this one jump out at you? Did you run your own car fax on it? Even looking at theirs, it did start in NJ. So I'd look for any rust anywhere, in person first.

Carfax says no damage. Crushed front fender says otherwise.

Photos make the paint look OK, but it still seems a little dull on the hood. I would expect the paint to dull rapidly after the make-ready wears off.

After watching videos of northern cars, most are ready for the crusher after 10 years due to frame rot. Not all, however. Would definitely get a pre-purchase inspection.

Does this model have the feared head gasket issue? I don't think WRXs did but I the NA ones did.

I've read that the wagons had rust issues around the rear strut towers, so check that out.

I'd look for a WRX wagon, but this one is likely more dependable.

Price, mileage...that's about it.

Good catch. I went to look at it...but it was in the shop getting struts and prepped for sale...and probably getting the damage repaired. Guy was supposed to call me back when it was ready, but nothing yet...that was Friday.

I may run by and tell them I'll give them $6,000 for it and see what they say.
