Made the mistake of going to the dealer and it's quite possibly the worst business model ever with current technology available. Who ever claims they have an easy buying experience from one is probably getting the shaft.

Anyway, anyone purchase from Carvana recently and if so, how was it? My worry would be buying a northern vehicle with unknown rust.

Carvana uses CarFax. You can tell where the vehicle was owned prior to help with rust issues.

Several people on here reported no issues buying from Carvana in the past. Slow title delivery was a concern.

Used twice - both with really good results. For teenagers' vehicles.

My oldest, his was a 2016 with decent miles. Had some weird noise coming from the front-end. Took it in and Carvana covered a $1,500 repair bill within the first week or so.

Second time for youngest. It was a 2019, similar low mileage. Car's been great so far. With our limited experience, both times have been fine. We did it all online, both times they brought the vehicles to the house and that was that.

I can say much better than when I bought my truck (also CPO/used) at a dealership. Three hours later when I finally pulled away from the lot.....

How do you assess cleanliness of the vehicle outside of their pictures? If they deliver something that doesn't appear as it did online - can you refuse?

100%. They can return the vehicle if you get cold feet, as well as during the grace period. They'll just swing back by and grab the car (as I was told)

I have bought from Carvana couple times and almost bought from them couple other times. I had an order placed and they called to tell me there was a smell they couldn't get rid of so asked if I wanted to cancel the purchase (of course I did) and another time they they brought out the vehicle but after having it a couple days I realize there were some issues so called them up and they picked it up shortly thereafter with no issues. Refunds take a little while (a week maybe it was?) but the process is easy and they don't give you any trouble if it's within the 7 days/300 or 400 mile limit. Just bought my son a car from them and had it looked over by independent shop and dealership actually and they both said it was in good shape. YMMV but you get like 15 min to look over and immediately accept/reject them another week to send back so no real loss other than time except I don't think the delivery fee (if paid) is refundable.

Didn't Carvana just buy a dealership in North Texas? If so, does that change anything?

Yes. They've been buying Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealerships and offering an online sales experience in the states they're in.

Two easiest car purchases I have ever made have been through Carvana.

A third didn't work out. Photos failed to show some scratches that were a deal breaker for us. It would've been difficult to capture those on film, so I'm not sure that it was Carvana's fault canceling. The transaction was super easy.

No experience with Carvana, but we used cargurus/ridendrive and are now seeking legal counsel regarding things they didn't disclose on a used car. It has been massively painful.

Dang. That sucks. What type of issues weren't disclosed if you can share?

Cargurus is just a consolidated online search platform and ridendrive looks like a shady "tote the note" lot...
