Deciding between ES 300h sedan (2023-2025 or stepping up for RX 450 suv. (2022-2024)
Anyone have thoughts? Typical Diff in price is about $8-10k correct. Preowned unless a super end of month, 4th of July sale is out there.

I had an 2023 ES350 for two years. It rode great and was very smooth, plenty of acceleration for a car that size.

But I hated it. The Lexus safety systems are annoying as hell. Someone drives behind you while you're backing out of the driveway BEEP, BEEP, BEEP....scrrcc..rbdrrrejlrlwkjer. the auto brakes come on and it actually sounds like you hit something. This happened to me more than once and I never figured out a way to disable it. One time the car was actually already past me and it still happened....my son was in the car and said "that seems annoying..."

Disable the radar assist cruise control. Again, it just suddenly comes on and slows you way down. It also will slow the car down on curves that are perfectly OK to take at the speed you're going.

The auto wipers suck and never go the correct speed. Either way too fast or too slow.

I'm sure it would have lasted 250,000 miles with regular maintenance and not much else. But the car drove me nuts with the constant nanny systems. I asked the dealer about disabling them and the response was "we haven't figured the 23's out yet" but I wasn't the first customer to complain about them.

We have a '26 TX550h. Wife loves it. I'm not in it often but I enjoy everything about it so far.
