Anyone have the new 6th gen around here? Curious how you're liking it if so. Getting tired of waiting for a new GX and starting to lean towards replacing our current 5th gen with an other.

I think that's the LandCruiser in the current lineup (250 series). Other than a few years of having a V8 a while back, the 4Runner has always had the V6 while the GX is all V8.
The Land Cruiser is very similar in appearance to the GX, but with different engines. GX is a 3.4L twin turbo V6. Land Cruiser is a 2.4L Hybrid. 4Runner has a 2.4L turbo or the optional 2.4L Hybrid.
My wife is comparing the GX, Land Cruiser and 4Runner. We've driven all 3 and Land Cruiser is the winner for us. We've had 4Runners in the past and loved them, but the new one feels very cramped compared to the LC and GX. I think it's the angle of the windshield that makes a huge difference.

The angle of the windshield in the LC is also causing owners to have to replace their windshields frequently. I'd Google it, and make sure you are prepared for that before committing to the LC. Not trying to talk you out of it, just making you aware if you weren't already.
Land Cruiser would be our first choice but she wants the third row emergency option so the LC is a no go for us
Yep...totally aware. GX owners having same issue.

Understood. Just be aware that the hybrid motor option for the 4Runner eliminates the 3rd row so you'd need to look only at non-hybrid. The batteries sit on the floor of the rear cargo area just like they do in the LC.
Don't overlook the premium fuel requirement in the LC and GX.

I have a 2024 LC and wish I'd have looked harder at the GX.
For such an expensive car (to me at least) some of the interior materials seem pretty cheap.
Plus the GX has thicker glass for a quieter ride. That's huge for me.
I do like the hybrid setup though. Very peppy.

I'd go for a Nissan Armada Pro-4X or SL with 4WD.
It will be just a luxury as those, with V6 twin turbos, drinks regular unleaded, and at a price tag that isn't inflated.
Especially if you intend to keep it for 10 years.
Now, if you plan to sell in three years the Toyota will hold its value significantly better for a mildly used vehicle.
But on these new Toyotas, their not the king of reliability anymore, still have a boatload of hard plastics, and still want a price tag was if they are the previous generation reliability.
And I agree the new 4Runner windshield has more of a Tacoma tilt with smaller feel, versus the more vertical Land Cruiser. I'd go cruiser over the 4Runner personally if you don't need the 3rd row.

Are they coming off of these a ton? Because Google tells me the Armada Pro-4X starts at $74K.
This. We've looked into the armada but if we plan to keep this vehicle ten years which we likely will I feel like the Toyota will hold its value way more than a Nissan will just by going off history

Went and test drove a limited yesterday and walked away pretty impressed. Much more pep than the old v6 and seemed pretty smooth transmission wise. I thought second row space was pretty similar to the 5th gen although it can get tight if the front seats are pushed all the way back, however they go back further now than they did in the 5th gen so it's basically a wash.
Starting to feel like we are leaning more 4Runner instead of the GX at this point. The price difference and savings in gas adds up especially if you're talking in terms of technology, features, etc. the GX gets you the v6 but that's about it.

Isn' t the Lexus GX motor the same turbo V6 that is in the Tundras? The Tundras motor issues are at 200k+ recalls (replacements), and the replacements are failing as well.
If same motor, I'd avoid the GX.

The 4Runner comes with 2 options: 2.4L turbo 4 cylinder or 2.4L turbo hybrid 4-cylinder.
LC only comes with the 2.4L turbo hybrid 4 cylinder
Neither need premium fuel.
The GX's 3.4L twin turbo V6 requires premium due to how it's tuned. I have a 2017 GX with the 4.6L V8. It "requires" premium fuel, but it also has run just fine when it has been filled with 87 octane by people that didn't know any better (wife and kids).
The LC requires premium which you should use.
I stand corrected. The search I ran yesterday said the LC doesn't require Premium, but I just looked at the owner's manual, and it does say to use 91 or higher octane.

It's says it's tuned to run on 87 octane. 91 for max performance yes, but it can run on 87 just fine.
