Over the past 6 months or so when I get out of bed in the morning to start my day, the pain in my feet is almost unbearable. I walk like a 90-year old man for the first few minutes and then it is as if everything loosens up and the pain goes away. If I sit at my desk for a few hours I have the same issue although not nearly as severe as when I start my day.

I used to have a problem in my elbow and started taking glucosamine to lubricate my joints and provide elbow relief. The elbow pain stopped and so I quit taking glucosamine. I did not make the connection, but that is roughly when I started having the pain in my feet. So 2 weeks ago, I got back on the glucosamine and WHALA! when I get out of bed in the morning now, the pain is almost completely gone. It's so interesting to me and I think for the first time in my life I can see a change in my body that is the result of a medicine/supplement that I am taking.

I just thought I would share this and would welcome any comments or questions. I don't know if a diagnosis can be made based on the successful treatment, but I am just happy I am no longer dealing with the problem.

I have foot pain with every step. I didn't think to try GC. I'll add that to my arsenal of supplements. Thanks for posting!

Injured my foot when I was younger and never had it looked at or fixed. Noticeably flatter arch and would always have pain with it, esp in the mornings. (doesn't help now I have bunions) Dont think I ever ran more than a mile until I was in my 20s. I did orthotics for a while which helped but what helped the most was that I just started running a lot more despite the discomfort along with strengthening and stretching and it helped tremendously. That's a good tip to try. Thanks!

Sound like plantar fasciitis, not the treatment but the symptoms.

What is the pain? In the joints, arch pain, or like pins & needles on the bottom of your feet?

The pain was aching throughout my feet. There were no issues with the skin like pins and needles feeling.

Reason I ask isn't because I have foot pain. But chronic back pain. I know I have an effed up back, but it's just a constant all-over achy feeling. Was wondering if glucosamine might help with that. I already got my vitamin d levels in line, and no change.

I had significant foot pain a while back. Bothered me only when I walked. Turned out to be bone pain from low vitamin d. Once I got my vit d levels up, pain went away. I get my vit d levels checked now anytime I have bloodwork done.

I'm recovering from a broken foot (out of the boot now) and have plantar faciaitis and hallux rigidus (got dam I'm old). I just got my first pair of MBT shoes. This is the best my feet have felt in AGES. Also started taking vit D and calcium as well as G-C . Curious to see how all of these things add up for me.
