She goes to be at a decent hour, and has no problem getting up early in the morning. Still says she feels tired all day. We've had bloodwork done and an EKG. Any suggestions?
Yes, I requested that one and it was normal.512Ag said:
Did the blood work check her thyroid levels? My daughter had unexplainable constant fatigue around age 10, and it turned out she has Hashimoto's thyroiditis. She's 13 now and is doing great. Meds have leveled her out nicely and the fatigue is gone.
Well, she started that about a year ago.ATM9000 said:
I have a daughter that's similar age and I'll just say you might be overlooking something obvious that happens around this time for all girls…
No vitamin deficiencies.Texagsubscriber said:
Did the bloodwork show any vitamin deficiency? Especially vitamin d. Also is she on a restricted diet which may cause the deficiency?
This could be worth a look. I have often wondered if she has restless leg syndrome as much as she moves around at night. Iron deficiency is something her doctor suspected early on. That being said, her tests showed slightly high red blood cell levels as opposed to low.KidDoc said:
Make sure they checked a Ferritin level. Good easy test to look for restless leg syndrome and iron supplementation essentially fixes it. If Ferritin is normal needs a sleep study. And you have to consider depression at that age which is the most common cause of chronic fatigue in teens.
