I take Rosuvastatin 10mg x 1 day. I started have gradma seizure type cramps in my calves and hamstrings. I started taking Co Q-10 and also stretching and walking more. I've had two episodes and they weren't near as bad and much less frequent. I also noticed muscle atrophy so I started off doing 100 pushups (4 sets of 25). A far cry from my 500 I used to do but those days are gone forever. I'm started to see the muscle come back. Going to get back involved in Taekwondo next week. I really want to get off the statin. My blood pressure is now normal (lost 18 lbs - have 20 more to go). I'm eating mostly vegan, very low fat and feel better. Good luck to everyone.

Since the original post, I met a former student that is involved with a company that harvests mushrooms that have been proven to help with a wide variety of conditions. I'm going to start taking the mushroom powder on Monday and will do so for three months and will report back. I'm also going to up my exercise from 3 days a week to 5.

I did pick up the statin prescription, but will only take it if my efforts during the next three months yield no results.

I've been taking statins for over 30 years. No issues other than good lipid profiles and ratios during that time.

A physician I used to work for once told me they should put statins in the water supply!

Been on low dose rosuvastatin for a couple of years and cholesterol score has plummeted. Granted, I used to work in cardiovascular research in grad school and already knew my LDL score was high because I mostly had large buoyant LDL. So although my cardiologist likes my cholesterol score, I can't comment too much that it has helped much. No muscle ache side effects, but have had vivid dreams every night since I started statins. YMMV.
