Hearing a lot these days about magnesium supplements. Any thoughts? If positive, which type do you take? Any thoughts on proper dosage for a 40 yo male?

I had been dealing with depression for a couple years. Really didn't want to be on meds. I read good things about magnesium glycinate so I started taking it.
I noticed a change within just a few days of taking it every night. My mood has been much better. I feel much more calm during the day and I sleep so much better at night.
I'm back in the gym in the mornings and have been going strong. I really think the supplement helped me get out my funk tremendously.
