MCL Sprain?

Last night in bjj I did a move and felt a small pop, not painful, just like cracking a large knuckle. I bent my knee a few times, felt ok, and continued with the roll and had 1 more after with no issues. But as I got home my knee started to stiffen, and this morning even more so.

I don't have any swelling, but the interior of my knee is weak if a twist (turning a corner using a normal stride). I don't have issue bending the knee while sitting, but the interior is tight when straightening (am able to, just feel it).

Overall I don't feel pain, just stiffness and weakness. Thought? I'm hoping I just popped my knee and strained the MCL and a few days rest will help. I actually have a colonoscopy next week, so by default I was going to take it easy as I prep for it. It'll be a good time to see how the knee is doing.

Could be MCL. Also could be medial meniscus. I think taking a little time off would be a good idea.

I did do upper body this AM, but had my feet up on bench and seated lat pulls, etc. I'll give it a week to see if I need to go to the doc.

If you have stability issues or a weakness when twisting or loading in a lateral direction, and you felt or heard a pop, it might be a good idea to go see an orthopedic specialist to be sure you only have a sprain and not a tear.

When I tore my ACL I had similar symptoms. I could walk on it and eve skied on it, but a lateral force would collapse my knee and hurt. Also had a torn meniscus and sprained MCL.

Day 4 after the injury, and it is a lot better but still not sure if it was just a sprain. Lateral movement is much improved, and the weakens is much less, but still stiff. If by Thursday it's not good, then I'll try to schedule something.
