Congrats Clay. Not to pivot too far but Oceanside was an awesome awesome race Saturday. Both men and women pro races.

My wife and son were there. They got high fives as Lionel wend down the finisher chute. Good stuff.

I was a DNS in this race. Just horrible conditions.

There was another guy, Gavin, who was in the lead the whole race, and would have won comfortably, but missed some sort of out and back on the run and was a DQ for it.

About an hour before the race was supposed to start.

Wave of emotions.

Woke up with normal pre-race nerves.
Text comes in the swim is canceled, and I relaxed quite a bit.
Get in the car and it's raining steady.
Park the car get out and it starts pouring.
Roads around the resort were puddling across the street.
Starts raining harder the closer I get to the bike rack.
Wind is strong and it's cold. I have no cold weather gear.
I was a very high bib and that mean starting near the back and having to try and pass tons of people on those conditions.

So given that I just realized it wasn't gonna be my day and we packed it up and went home.

Yeah, given that scenario I'm out too. Sorry man.
