Hey nerds.

Forever ago I had a marathon build up plan that just got you worked up to marathon training smartly. I can't think of the organization that did it. I googled and am inundated with marathon training plans.

Anyone know where to find this or one like it (Aggie00 I'm looking at you)? I could do it myself using the build-up rules, but why if it's available?

Me and Boston need to dance again.

Thanks in advance.

Perhaps?

Jack Daniels Plans - 2q
Pfitz 18/55 or 18/70
Hal Higdon plans- will get you to a race but undertrained, if you're wanting to Boston qualify

Oh I'm a tried and true Hanson's gal for training.

I've just been lifting for years and not running much and want to get mileage on the legs in a way that makes sense before I start hitting actual marathon training. I guess I could hit an easy half plan that doesn't have tempo or speed workouts.

I would think a good 10K plan, slowly building up, would get you a good enough base to start your 18 week marathon countdown. Working backwards, when are you wanting to start your "official" marathon training?

I'm a big Hansons fan too.

Right now the thought is to requalify with Marine Corps Marathon. So I guess I'll work backwards from that. Got some strength goals this year before I start pounding my legs again.

So about 9 weeks until your official countdown starts. Maybe the first half of a half marathon plan before you start going full speed? Sounds like you're in good shape fitness wise, and I seem to remember from your posts years ago that you have lots of running experience.
Good luck!
