I am looking to see if yall know any pro TRT docs in BCS. My former Urologist left town and he was helpful to prescribe it. My GP would not prescribe because i was around 250. I am in my 30s and not 80 so definitely was feeling better when it is higher with TRT. Currently using an online service, but due for bloodwork soon, and would rather do something local.

Appreciate the help.

Couple of things here. First why wouldn't your GP work with you on this? Has to be a reason why he felt like T replacement wasn't good for you. If not it's time to find a new GP. If there was you need to figure that out as maybe he's seeing something more important than T level that needs to be addressed.

That aside I don't know what kind of T replacement method you're looking for but I had my first pellet insertion at the beginning of March. I had a friend using BioTE so I followed his lead and went to a local doctor that does that program. They handled the bloodwork, etc. I didn't talk to my primary about it at all before doing it. Im 54 and prior to insertion my T was 336. Last week I had my 6-week draw and it was 925.

I probably won't see my primary again til September unless I get sick or injured so I can't tell you what she'll say. She's a NP and she did encourage my wife to do the same program so at least for women she's a believer.

Not sure what the situation is, but can only speak from my own experience.

I'm also in my 30s (early 30s) and felt my testosterone starting to go down. I've been in the weight room 6 days per week since January and I feel damn near 21 years old again.

If worst comes to worst, get in the gym and it's crazy what can happen naturally.

Again, I don't know the situation and can only speak from my own experience.

Some doctors wont work on it. Old school i guess. Since normal range is 250+. He said i was normal even though low. I was normal for someone in their 70s. but not normal for someone my age.

This is why I am trying to find a new doctor. But wanted to find one that is pro TRT, so i dont have do do the dance again.

My urologist helped me a lot, but he closed his practice and moved out of College Station. When he left I didnt have a doctor to continue with the treatment. So i tried my GP. After that i went to a subscription service and teledoc. I am on it now, but due for bloodwork and renewing so figured its a good time to find a new doctor that is local.

My response came across as brash. Sorry about that. Appreciate the response. My endurance activities are probably having an opposite effect. I have read that endurance sports can decrease test.

I haven't talked to her about this from a male perspective but Kelsey Campana at St Joe at Tower Point is our GP. She's a nurse practitioner but I have no clue who her supervising physician is. She was very supportive of my wife and said she's a believer in the BioTE program.

One thing to consider if you can pay cash just go that route and eliminate your GP altogether. I went straight to the provider for BioTE because after doing a lot of homework and talking to friends on that program I wasn't willing to have a conversation with a GP that might try to change my mind. Unless your insurance requires a referral that's something to consider.

I assume BioTe is not covered by insurance?

I am currently paying cash with my online TRT clinic. Its around $100 per month. But they charge $250 for blood work.

When I used my urologist it was free for bloodwork and TRT was covered by insurance. Only $30 for 5 vials of test. So less than 1/3 the cost I am paying now.

That's correct, insurance doesn't cover it. I pay $750 per insertion with the generic expectation that men usually go 6 months between insertions. I also paid cash for the bloodwork which I think was $126 each test.

Whichever way you go, just don't lie about it to the next doc you see. We see dudes on a weekly basis that won't admit their taking some form of testosterone only for their blood work to show otherwise.

I get it, local care can make a huge difference. Have you tried checking with any of the local anti-aging clinics? They sometimes specialize in TRT. Also, some endocrinologists might be more open to discussing it if you're seeing benefits. I've heard good things about certain clinics in BCS, but it's all about finding one you trust.

My GP in CS wouldn't even consider treating it. His rationale was "that may be normal for you, we don't have a previous test showing a drop", despite the symptoms. I was low enough for insurance to cover it. Ended up going with Rise Men's Health based on a suggestion here, and they've been pretty easy to work with. Based in DFW but all my appointments are telehealth and I do labs locally.

Friend of mine does Apex in Tower Point, but it's pricey.
