Yeah, that's the only thing I can think of, but I also do not want that feature on a watch. It's dumb. I also don't think it's much of a contributor to battery life. I have an Apple Watch as well that is not cellular and it still has no battery life.

There's a lot of things. Apple Watches are just better integrated with apps, etc. For example, when our cameras detect motion my wifes Apple Watch gets a notification identical to her phone. Has a zoomed in picture, etc. I get text saying "front yard camera detected motion." on my garmin.

Check this out. Garmin's new Venu X1 is a direct Apple Watch competitor and killer, frankly. Even looks just like it.

Only thing it might not do what the new Apple Watch purports to do is let you know if your BP is high.

edit: And it has a flashlight!! Dammit, I have to get this now and replace my Venu 2.

The flashlight is a really underrated feature. I use the one on my watch all the time.

I hear this all the time and considering how often I drag out my headlamp because I can't see **** I want this badly.

Garmin Venu X1 only has 2 day battery life with AOD, so may have to retract my excitement for that one.

Looking to replace Forerunner 235XT
Long distance runner, no swim, sometimes bike.
Want to stick to Garmin, don't need smart features but a good display will help.

Thoughts?

I have the 265 and love it. It has the AMOLED display, which is a considerable upgrade from prior versions (I went from 235 to 245 to 265). I'm like you and running is the focus, with supplemental indoor cycling and strength training. For my money and training, the latest 2X5 is always the best option.

There is supposed to be a 275 released this year, but an actual release date hasn't been announced nor has Garmin released specs and features.

can you download music/podcast episodes without paying a monthly subsciption?

Anyone have luck buying a watch and claiming HSA dollars? My cardiologist wants me to be tracking for AFib daily. My fenix 5x doesn't work with the Garmin echo app. Figured that would be solid justification but seeing if anyone had experience.

Another 965 fan here. All the functionality of epix pro without the weight. No flashlight but screen is so bright in flashlight mode I've never needed it.

On Garmin devices it requires the paid Spotify version. But it's worth every penny.

So if you pay for Spotify already it doesn't cost to use it and download episodes of a podcast to the watch?
