I have had rotator cuff issues in both shoulders for the pas 6 weeks or so. Girlfriend prescribed me meloxicam which works wonders when I have foot tendonitis flareups from running but unfortunately this didn't work. Has anyone had success with cortisone shots and rest or did you end up having to have surgery? I am wanting to avoid that if possible.

Pulls, tears, damage, or just pain? I had shoulder impingements in both shoulders with pain and weakness in a throwing motion. Years of physical therapy and fitness training later and they are now healthy and strong with no pain.

It will depend very much on what exactly is wrong as to how to approach it.

Pt/exercises, then shots and pt, then surgery over 15 or 20 years. You'll know when it is time. Surgery and recovery sucks pretty bad, but totally worth it once healed.

I've had shoulder issues for a while. I've got a torn labrum in my right shoulder along with significant arthritis. I've had 3 cortisone shots which is all I can have. They help but there seem to be diminishing returns, and I've had the guided shots where they perform them while you're basically under an x-ray to hit the exact spot. X-rays and an MRI are necessary for a formal diagnosis. My orthopedist said the torn labrum isn't a huge deal but my pain is from arthritis which they can address by going in and shaving down the end of the collar bone. I'll probably have that surgery next year.

Following. Just started for me a month ago or so and it's not going away. Guess it's time for a visit to the Ortho.

Thanks for the replies. I am waiting on going to the doctor until after I renew my health insurance next month.
