What brand/model do y'all recommend? Anyone have luck on a refurbished commercial gym brand?

Want a treadmill but one that'll last, probably be running less than 15 miles a week, walking 30-40 minutes 5-6 days a week using an incline. Budget--$4k or less.

The gym I work out at buys old OTF treadmills. Not sure the cost but the belts slip pretty bad even after constant readjustment.

We bought a peloton tread during Covid and while it was pretty pricey, we've been very pleased with the service, durability, and access to classes.

Rig I work on has 3 Life Fitness 95t. If you can get a gym refurbished one of these I'd recommend. They've been on the rig for 12 years now and one got scraped last fall but the other two are still running strong with probably tens of thousands of miles logged both running and incline walking.

I'd get a sole slat if I were in the market for new. Currently have a sole tt8 that has been great.

I have a ST90 and it's great, but probably overkill for 15 miles a week and some walking. For something like that I'd say just go to Academy or Dicks and try some out. Anything by Sole, NordicTrack or Horizon should work fine with those parameters.

That's the route I went a couple years ago.

I bought a used life fitness 95t??? Maybe… I think that is what it's called.

I've loved it. It's a workhorse. I use it almost everyday. I usually try to run outside but I live int Utah so it's handy on cold winter days. I certainly walk on it everyday.

In my experience if you are doing the exercise already then purchasing the home equipment helps and can be a good investment. If you aren't already doing the exercise then purchasing the equipment won't magically make you do it, so purchasing it may or may not be helpful.

I'll add that another rig I worked on had a Sole and I quite enjoyed it. Really good shock absorption. Tried to get the wife to go that route but she was set on peloton.

I have a Sole in our garage I use to incline walk. I wanted a basic model that would not bust the budget and felt solid and have been pleased overall.

I've got a line on a non-profit in Houston that would love to get rid of some 80-90's vintage treadmills from an old rec center that are no longer used. They all work, but obviously don't have the bells and whistles of a modern machine. They are free for the taking, but are ridiculously heavy, and on the second floor of a building with no elevator... anyway, let me know when you can come pick one up!

Dude, $4K?! For only 15 miles a week you can get a $600 Pro Form from Academy. It'll be plenty good.

I've had a True PS300 for well over 10 years. It's a well built machine, very happy with it. Don't use it as much lately but it's good to have on bad weather days.

Sole Treadmills are very popular and well-liked.
