IF so, aside from surgery how was it treated? I've now had it twice in the past several months. Full disclosure: overweight desk jockey working primarily a desk job. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Assuming there is no trauma, ribs are easy to fix. Find an orthopedic PT, preferably trained by MTI or Optum and they will fix it and teach you how to fix it if it happens again.

I had one get slightly out of place a couple of years ago. It was painful, then, a chiropractor taught me some mobility moves, and one day while doing them, it just snapped back into place. It was loud when it did. Sweet relief!

I feel down awkwardly once and dislocated a rib. Saw MDs, got x-rays. Was very uncomfortable, no help. About a week later a family member with a knack for resetting stuff said she could feel where it was out of place, asked if she could try pushing on it. When she did there was a loud pop that made both of us jump. Felt immediately better.
