Two that I have recently read are

Brotherhood of Heroes (battle of Peleliu)

and

The Ultimate Battle (battle of Okinawa)

by Bill Sloan

On my list....The Bitter Ocean (battle of the Atlantic) and The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer

And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. - 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

I'm currently reading Eisenhower's Crusade in Europe. This is a must for WWII fans!

There are a whole slew of really good authors who've done WWII work. Lots of good stuff to choose from.

Let me give a +1 for Cornelius Ryan. "The Last Battle", about the battle for Berlin, is still the standard work for that episode, IMO. Ryan had a special gift....
