Great story in today's WaPo about CIA ownership of a leading Swiss cryptology company that allowed US and West German intelligence to read transmissions from anyone they wanted to who used the systems up till the mid 2010's.
I am sure there is a lot more out there about this story that will come out, but I was unaware of this and fascinated reading about it. Makes you think about who owns the technology and can theoretically decrypt and read the supposedly encrypted transmissions of today.
