This is apparently news from 2015 but it's the first I've heard of it. A panther tank was found in a German man's basement along with over 70 small arms and plenty of Nazi memorabilia. It's sounds like quite the historical treasure trove. I'd give quite a bit to be able to sift through that.

It's all good.

BTW, I'd probably collect Nazi **** if I was a rich German just like I'd collect (more) American WWII items if I was rich. Shoot, I'd collect Nazi **** now if I had the money. That doesn't make me a Nazi.

Thanks. I also understand the time he grew up in being born in either 1937 or '31 (depending on when he was 84) and odds are he or his family drank the kool-aid or just went along. But collecting memorabilia......I think we can all understand that. Heck where would the History channel be without Hitler?

In Germany 1954 - they tried to keep Nazi items scarce.

Yep. Obviously the widespread and systematic destruction of Nazi memorabilia by the state makes a stash like this guy's pretty valuable.

On a separate note i think it's a shame that east Germany destroyed the fuhrer bunker. That would be an amazing historical place. But I get that there was legitimate concerns that it could turning onto a shrine of sorts.....and no doubt some motivation due to shame.
