Will be an interesting listen. Dan normally brings a different view on things and a tremendous amount of research.
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

Just started it so not sure. It seems like a standalone, but this is Dan Carlin, so who knows

I just found this podcast and am way behind. I just listened to the series on Persia. I'm hooked, and I'm also glad these come out so rarely. Looking forward to catching up one day.

I recall watching the series "Roots" years ago. Found myself crying several times. Had a profound effect on me I believe.

Would like to give this one a listen for sure.

Did this just recently get on to Spotify? I'm not a big fan of Apple podcasts but it looks like only about 5-10 shows are on Spotify

Last I heard his episodes sometimes don't show-up in the regular feed because he releases them for purchase. I got his entire library a couple years ago for $60 I think. But this one, BLITZ Human Resources, showed up in my pod catcher (Pocket Casts) last Sunday. His product for shorter podcasts, Hardcore History Addendum, seems to have regular episodes for free.

About half way through, heavy material for sure to process but glad he chose to tackle the subject

You are getting close to the Haitian Revolution where it doesn't get any lighter.

Listened to the entire show while driving the family out to west Texas and back. As usual with his podcast, I gained a lot of new knowledge and filled in gaps between chunks I already knew. He does a great job of painting a broad picture of slavery throughout history for maybe an hour, then honing in on the Western Hemisphere and timeframe from 1500-1800ish. The brutality is insane and keeps escalating through the Haitian war.

And when people reference the Haitian Revolution prior to 1860, abolitionists said "it'll never happen here!" John Brown's attempts from Bleeding Kansas and Harper's Ferry, inspired by the Haitian revolution, prove it was an endgame for the lunatic fringe.

I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say, but he does mention how the vast majority of the contemporary reports being written and distributed around the world of the events are from the white perspective. They focus only on the atrocities being committed by the rebels so much that even some abolitionist are shocked and horrified to the point that they question emancipation and cohabitation.

But, he makes it very clear that the atrocities from the rebels are retaliatory in nature, including racial genocide. Once the French realized they would not be able to retake the island with the current inhabitants, they planned just to wipe them out and replace them with new enslaved people from Africa.
