Is there a comprehensive book that lists all the Texas Historical markers?

The only thing I can find is a book called "Why Stop?: A Guide to Texas Roadside Historical Markers"

It lists 2,500 markers but I thought there were way more than that

The app shows 2,530 in the 22 "gulf region" counties alone.

FYI- there's a Texas Historical Markers app that worth the price IMO.

The app is my reference on these. Super easy to use.

ETA: 100 per county seems like a lot (2500+ in the 22 gulf counties), but I haven't counted them up.

Has it gotten better? We used it a few years ago, and found it woefully out of date.

Not sure, it hasn't let me down yet.

The 2500+ in the region includes all types of markers, not just the traditional black signage.

I had an old app and it was okay but as you mention out of date, They eventually quit supporting the app.

This looks like a reboot or a new one.

Thanks all!

I was hoping for a book I could just keep in the seat back pocket and date as I came across each one of them but the app seems to be the way to go nowadays
