A desperate army turned to fight in a no win situation which was also on a Thursday. A very somber battlefield that is also one of my favorites. Visited it many times during my time working at Petersburg National Battlefield. Battle

Great post. Battle of Shiloh April 6-7, 1862 as well. A terribly mismanaged effort by the Confederates.....and a terrible loss of life by both armies! Shiloh...In Hell Before Night by James McDonough is a great read!
