I was probably the only kid to have checked out my high school library's copy of "Upfront" and then get most of the humor. Which reminds me, I need to order a copy for my library. Pretty funny Patton didn't like him

Did not know that Patton did not like him, but that would figure. Patton was very polished, even in battle.

My dad had one of those paperback books by Mauldin that I enjoyed as a kid.
Do not know what happened to that but still have one of his old "Pogo" books.
Dad flew more than a million miles so had occasional time for books.
