This American Battlefields video of what took place 160 years ago today is personally very ponente. 40 years ago as a summer hire for the National Parks Service at Petersburg National Battlefield I and my fellow summer interpreter Mark Tomko followed Will Greene and Chris Calkin (NPS Historia at PNB ) across this very ground as we followed the assault by its timeline. It didn't look anything like this at the time.
