I am kind of curious if any of ya'll do reenactments or anything similar to that?
I currently am involved with the Nimitz Museum I have been doing that for the past four years and have greatly enjoyed it. From a personal side of things it gives me a bit of a perspective of wearing those uniforms dealing with the heat from Texas which is pretty analogous to the heat in the Pacific. I also enjoy it because I am one of the volunteers trusted with the flamethrower and it is pretty fun. I figure there should be some other reenactors on here due to proximity with the museum of the American GI.
Overall I view living history as a great way to connect to people and show the reality of daily lives of people who lived throughout the various periods of history throughout the world as living history forces you to focus on the reality of daily life rather than the grand picture.
