Good Bull, Brandon, but I have to admit I was hoping you'd make them pay for free premium subscriptions for all Legend-level members.

Great job, Brandon. I have the utmost respect for the way you run this site and how you handle these situations. You are the reason that TexAgs is the best college fan site in the nation.

Good bull to Texags staff for maintaining a level of professionalism through this matter. And for what it's worth, I genuinely appreciate that Carl Pelini apologized to Texags, regardless of any statements he or others may have made earlier.

The matter is closed, and all parties involved can move on in good faith.

Good Bull Brandon. Thank you for insisting on a public apology and then being man enough to drop the whole incident. I do agree with several other posters that the Pelini Bros need ANGER MANAGEMENT 101 and I'll just bet that Tom O. makes sure they take and pass that course.

Classy response, WatchOle, and in honesty, a good, but delayed response by Carl.

Everyone ****s up. Own it, apologize, and move on.

Nebraska is a classy program. Colorado - another story. They need to go kick the cheet out of those guys.

And meanwhile, we've got some business on Thursday that we best not overlook. Let's get focused on the ballgame and forget about this incident.

Sorry to poop on the party, but I think this is important. High road? Bigger man? Classy? Nah. In a situation where everyone knows who was in the wrong, the bigger man does not post the incident all over the web and demand public retribution. The bigger man loves his neighbor, even his enemy, just as he loves himself, and forgives the offender in private without first demanding public humiliation. What Brandon did was among the easiest possible roads. Not saying I'm above it - I've handled these kinds of situations much worse over the years. I just disagree with what is being celebrated here.

Husker fan here. Felt the need to log-in and post.

The way you guys have handle this is way above board. Top notch, especially Brandon.

I'm personally disgusted by how this has been handled up until today. But, even with the responses of Carl and Dr. Osborne still think how we handle Saturday was the ultimate display of poor sportsmanship.

I've always followed the Aggies since Tim Cassidy went down there and our quarterback Zac Taylor. The way this has been handled gives me the new team I'll be rooting for when the Huskers join the Big 10 (errrrr, 12).

Beat the stuffing out of Texas.

Glad he officially apologized, and that's all that was ever really wanted out of all this. It would have been nice if the apology had come before the excuse and before the 2nd angle confirmed everything, but better late than never I guess.

However, there are still some things I'd like to understand...

quote:
It was a very emotional situation and the mob scene on the field after the game amplified that. Having been involved in a similar situation in 2003 at Missouri, and in witnessing the situation on the field, I made a poor decision in trying to prevent a reporter from recording the scene.

Okay, first off, was the post-game celebration something that would objectively be called a "mob scene"? It looked like the type of thing that parents would enjoy experiencing with their kids, which isn't exactly the store-looting, bus-burning type of experience one would expect from a mob. I doubt there was even a single pitch-fork down there.

Secondly.... Okay, now I'm curious... What the heck happened at Missouri in 2003?

Third, what situation on the field? Is he talking about the game or the "mob scene" that followed?

Last, what good was he even trying to accomplish by preventing a reporter from "capturing the scene".

Even the apology is strange.

Thank you Brandon and Carl for providing some interesting drama on top of the Nebraska game, which was great for Aggies just by itself.

Need to find out what the heck happened in 2003 at Missouri...

thanks Brandon for simply presenting the facts and then being gracious enough to accept apologies that should have come a bit sooner.
NU has a long history of great athletics, but that does not entitle them to do the lace dunn dance and overlook garbage behavior. I would encourage them to seek different answers at a couple of coaching positions and then seek us out again on the playing field!

So when can Ben Cotton expect his apology from #83 Jerod-Edie? From him, not coming from the coach, I didn't buy that one bit. If Sherman was sincere about it, he would be suspended for a game.

but the real issue here is: Do you really, honestly think the apology was genuine? ...or forced to be politically correct and to save his job and try to give some semblance of honor back to a now tarnished Nebraska football team??

Brandon did the right thing and our problem with these low brow coaches is in fact resolved. The real damage has been to the football program at Nebraska. They have been for many years the "shining example of good sportsmanship for our Conference". It is clear to me that the coaching staff at NU has changed that forever. The players were bad sports on the field, the coaches abused the NU players in a public forum and were whiners and generally absurdly bad on the sidelines. The damage to the NU program has been really serious and that program will be watching to see what Tom Osborne (the one who created the good reputation for NU) will do to stop the damage.

Good luck NU it is a serious problem but we hope and sincerely believe you will deal with it properly.

I really appreciate everyone's concerns about the Husker's image.

These things can be overcome. A&M has overcome the perceptions associated with it with multiple run ins with the NCAA and the sanctions leveled against the program.

The balance of the story for both programs is far to the positive.

Good thing Carl wasn't carrying a sword with him.

Hold on and stop the presses.

Why does Bo get allowed with lying about this whole situation during the Monday press conference? It is one thing to assault a cameraman in the heat of the moment. It is another thing to just lie about the whole situation.

In Monday's presser, Bo said, "Apparently, he went through the camera to get (to the player)," Bo Pelini said, "and if something happened to the camera, I know Carl regrets that it happened. That’s what happened, and I talked to the player that was involved, too."

Well, what player did Pelini talk to? And how did that conversation go when there was no player involved? How could you mix up the incidents like Carl is claiming, and then confirm the story by talking to the player like Bo is saying? Why the two orders.

Bo, Carl Pelini ordered the Code Red because *that's* what you told Carl to do!
And when it went bad, you cut these guys loose! You coerced the doctor...
You doctored the log book!...
You lied about it in a press conference!

so after viewing the video of what happened in 2003... he guess is still implying that a player was somehow involved in this situation with brandon and that is what he was 'preventing' from happening again.... lies to cover lies are always fun... and then apologizing but still sticking to the lie...

or maybe some of their players are some special mutation of a vampire that can't be recorded in HD and that is what we are missing.... did anyone record this in SD?

I'm glad Brandon handled this with such class.

nems,

I wouldn't recommend getting into a moral relativism argument. It won't end well for you...

Two things:

1. Bo was told something and said what he understood. Hardly a lie. Carl is clearly the one with a telling the truth problem.

2. Your cameraman was obviously trying to get some shots of the Husker players and coaches in their disappointment, not recording the Aggie's celebrating. He made sure to move himself to where the Husker players were leaving the field.

Carl, being an idiot, overreacted.
