Very cool! During my training in Arizona we used to the same ranges and training areas. I just loved seeing you all! That's my favorite aircraft. Sorry Apache.

Sorry, but A-10s aren't loud. They have huge turbofans (for their size). Still, it ought to be good!

Thanks for your service. Wish we could hitch a ride with you...we're a couple of Ags, marooned out here (ha ha) at Ft. Huachuca. Enjoy the fly-over & the game!

Got a good story about the A-10 Warthog. It's a great aircraft, but has been the red-headed stepchild of the AF fighter community since it first entered service. (The F-111 Aardvark was a close second.)

When the AF deployed to Saudi Arabia for Desert Shield, the first unit in country was an F-16 outfit out of Shaw AFB, SC. (Their weather officer was a Major select I had trained when he was a 2Lt 10 years earlier.)

Gen Schwarzkopf, the Army guy in charge of the whole shebang was pissed beyond words at the AF. He wanted to know where in hell the A-10's were! Schwarzkoph needed tank killers.

Would love to see the flyby, but as others have pointed out, the best work done by the Warthogs is low and slow, not loud and fast.

low and slow... and very deadly.

A depleted uranium shell from the A10
s Gatling gun does very nasty things within the crew cabin of a tank once it burns through the outer shell. Very nasty things.

Yeah we won't break any ear drums but what sets us apart from every other fighter in the world is each pilot you will meet has killed hundreds of bad guys and saved hundreds of good ones.

Good gosh... do the "MOAR LOUD NOISES" rattle y'alls sensitive little vaginas? You'd think some machines flying over your head for no apparent reason was actually some kind of a big deal or had some reasoning behind it. But nope, it's just a primal urge for loud noises.

You were and will always be one of my favorite aircraft too, for reasons not to be discussed. That's gonna be a heck of a fly over.

Sitting here looking at the 'dud' (sans propellant) GAU-8 round my uncle gave me. I had the pleasure of visiting him once on base, and even though I was so young, I'll never forget it. Thank you for your service, and I hope the weekend is a lot of fun for you and your colleagues.

Perhaps its just my perception, but everytime I see the A-10, low and slow maybe in the straight lines, but it sure looks like the plane has no problem with aggressive turning maneuvers.

It sure felt like football season seeing yall role in this afternoon. Last plane in seemed like it was floating down it dropped speed so much. Yall should do flyover at minimum elevation and speed.

Hard to imagine being the poor SOB on the ground still willing to fight with a RPG or AK and you boys circling overhead.

Love the A-10. Zoomie daughter gets her wings in December and A-10 is at the top of her list of choices.

As a former Army tank platoon leader, the cannon on that A-10 is every tanker's worst nightmare !! If you've ever heard one on a firing range, it sounds like a 25 mile long zipper, or God's lawnmower coming at you. I'll never forget the sound and thank God they work for the good guys.

that will flat tear some stuff up . Good bull on the flyover !!

Wiki says: "its primary built-in weapon is the 30 mm GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling-type cannon. One of the most powerful aircraft cannons ever flown, it fires large depleted uranium armor-piercing shells. In the original design, the pilot could switch between two rates of fire: 2,100 or 4,200 rounds per minute;[48] this was changed to a fixed rate of 3,900 rounds per minute. The gun is accurate enough to place 80% of its shots within a 40-foot (12.4 m) diameter circle from 4,000 feet (1,220 m) while in flight"
