TexAgs hires former Rivals writer Jason Howell as senior recruiting analyst
TexAgs.com is pleased to announce the addition of Jason Howell to the TexAgs recruiting team to fill the role of Senior Recruiting Analyst.
Howell comes to TexAgs after a 13-year stint at Rivals.com in various roles and capacities covering recruiting in the state of Texas and the surrounding region.
Jason started with Rivals as an intern in 2003, and shortly afterward became the owner and publisher of SicEmSports.com, the network's team site covering Baylor sports. He was hired by Orangebloods.com in January 2009 as a recruiting analyst and built numerous connections with high school coaches and players while covering the day-to-day recruiting beat for one of the largest team sites in the industry.
Rivals.com promoted Howell to Mid-South Regional Recruiting Analyst in 2012, after which he covered recruiting throughout the four-state region of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
"Jason provides the TexAgs recruiting team with a seasoned recruiting professional who has a well-rounded, versatile background working as a team site publisher, a team site recruiting analyst, and a network regional analyst," said Director of Recruiting Operations David Sandhop. "He provides TexAgs with a host of relevant skill sets and an established network of working relationships within the high school coaching community and recruiting industry in this region that will enhance our coverage for our subscribers."
Howell will work out of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, adding a much-needed presence for TexAgs in the north and northeast Texas region.
"We felt it was important to have a physical presence in the DFW area to enhance our Friday night game and recruiting coverage in the fall," said Sandhop. "And it helps us immensely in the spring evaluation period to go see recruits at the DFW schools and talk directly to the high school coaches and players in person."
A native of Stuttgart, Ark., Jason graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Economics.
