Aggies add Australian punter Nik Constantinou to 2019 class
Since Jimbo Fisher’s arrival in College Station the Aggies have been known to go wherever they need to in order to find top talents. It turns out those options extend beyond the US borders.
Australian punter Nik Constantinou is headed to College Station to begin his college football journey in 2019.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Constantinou has been a standout in Australian Rules football, but is relatively new to the American game.
After some persuading from his father and then from his mentor Michael Gallus, Constantinou tried out with the Prokick program in Australia run by Nathan Chapman and John Smith.
“I rocked up and gave it a go. I knew the fundamentals [which helped]. After a month I had learned a lot about the game and had learned to love it,” Constantinou told World Footy News.
Now he is headed to College Station where he will prepare to step in after Ray Guy award winner Braden Mann finishes his senior season in 2019.
