Seniors Micheal Clemons, Keldrick Carper to return for 2021 season
Senior defensive end Micheal Clemons and senior safety Keldrick Carper will play for Texas A&M next football season.
A&M coach Jimbo Fisher on Tuesday morning told radio host Bill Coates of KRWR-FM 92.1 in Tyler that Clemons and Carper are returning for the 2021 season.
In reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA is not counting the 2020 season against player eligibility. Therefore, seniors have the option of returning for an additional year.
Clemons and Carper raise the total of A&M senior defensive players coming back to six. Tackle Jayden Peevy, linebacker Aaron Hansford and cornerbacks Myles Jones and Elijah Blades previously announced they will return next season.
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Clemons was leading the Aggies with four sacks through five games before sustaining a season-ending foot injury.
Carper posted 27 tackles, had an interception and broke up two passes in a backup role.
