Help send Aggie Olympian Annie Kunz to the Tokyo Olympics

Editors Note: Thank you to everyone for your eagerness to support Annie and for your generosity. We’ve closed the gofundme because you more than doubled the $5,000 mark in no time. Along with some other personal contributions that were made, we’ve met our goal to help send Annie to Tokyo with all of our support!

We’ve been in touch with Annie today and she’s overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and encouragement. She wanted to send along a note to everyone as soon as she’s free, so we’ll add that as soon as we have it.

Aggie and former TexAgs employee Annie Kunz (’15) punched her ticket to the Tokyo Olympics on June 27 when she won the women’s heptathlon at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Defying the record-breaking heatwave in the Northwest that forced a delay in the competition, Annie exceeded the Olympic Standard of 6,420 points for the first time in her career and piled up 6,703 points, posting the highest score in the world this year.

Next up, Tokyo. And we have a chance to be a part of her Olympic journey!

Already in training for the Olympics, Annie faces substantial expenses to make the trip to Japan this summer. Not backed by corporate sponsors like many Olympic athletes, Annie is working to raise the necessary funds on her own.

We want to help ease that burden and enable Annie to focus on her next goal of bringing home an Olympic medal. TexAgs is donating $5,000 to the cause, and we’re inviting the Aggie and TexAgs communities to join the effort and match that $5,000 through the gofundme campaign linked below. All money raised will go directly to Annie’s Olympic expenses.
