Texas A&M ranked No. 6 in preseason Coaches Poll
Ahh, yes. Another sign that college football is right around the corner; Preseason Polls. This morning, The Preseason Coaches Poll was released and the Aggies came in just outside the top five at No. 6.
The Aggies enter 2021 with question marks at quarterback while trying to replace Kellen Mond, and offensive line, where the Aggies are replacing all but Kenyon Green among the Maroon Goons. Luckily for Jimbo Fisher & Co., they return weapons abound for either Haynes King or Zach Calzada with all of Isaiah Spiller, Ainias Smith, Orange Bowl MVP Devon Achane and Jalen Wydermyer among others.
Defensively is where the strength of the Aggies 2021 preseason ranking lies. DeMarvin Leal anchors an experienced group that returns 9 starters from the Orange Bowl Champs, including a vaunted defensive line featuring Leal, Micheal Clemons, Jayden Peevy and McKinnley Jackson.
The poll features six teams from the Southeastern Conference, three of which are Texas A&M opponents for the 2021 season in Alabama (1), LSU (13) and Ole Miss (25).
