2022 Opa Locka (FL) five-star DE Shemar Stewart signs with Texas A&M
It is National Signing Day, and once again, the Aggies have gone into the state of Florida and plucked one of the Sunshine State’s top defenders as DE Shemar Stewart announced his Texas A&M decision.
A product of Monsignor Pace High School in Miami, Stewart chose a future in College Station over finalists Miami and Georgia, and he held scholarship offers from every major program in the country.
Turn the tape on. This kid is an absolute monster. It’s very similar to watching DeMarvin Leal’s senior film.
Stewart checks in at 6-foot-6, 275 pounds and possesses rare athletic traits for a kid that size. He’s got the requisite power in his base and strength in his hands to be an imposing figure against the run, and he also flashes next-level quickness and agility in his pass rush. He’s got an incredible wingspan that he has learned to use as leverage on would-be blockers. You can view his highlight tape below.
The addition of Stewart gives the Aggies seven five-star signees and moves the Aggies’ 2022 class to 28 overall in number. He joins a historic defensive line class that also includes Walter Nolen, Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, Anthony Lucas, Enai White, Malick Sylla and Jadon Scarlett .
