On Friday evening, the 12th Man Kickoff Team Foundation honored the legacy of legendary Texas A&M head coach Jackie Sherrill at the Hall of Champions. Sherrill took to the podium, and TexAgs presents the video of his speech at the Friday night banquet.

Ray Childress was such a wrecking ball on that defensive line. His stats as a junior and senior are remarkable. Still my favorite Aggie defensive lineman of all time. Glad I had the opportunity to watch him play.

I was swinging from 4th stack the night Coach Sherrill brought most of the team out to hump logs. It was during push so probably 100 people on/around stack, but it was deafening when he led the players out there.

THATS what it means to "get A&M".

CajunAG, you sure got that right. It may not translate that well to 2023, but those of us that lived the transformation Coach Sherrill brought KNOW it can be done, and we've patiently waited for it to happen AGAIN.

I remember how excited we were at the 12th man kickoff. Very unifying. I believe the 12th man towel started with Jackie. Everyone I knew absolutely loved Coach. May he live a long, happy life and may the next coach be cut from the cloth of Jackie.

Hmmm… When I first heard it, I was shocked, but I kept my mouth shut hoping I was wrong. I was wondering when it was going to get out. I think they forgot to edit the last 5 seconds. Listen carefully.

It made watching the game on Saturday very awkward.
